Thatcher is a fun and active baby who smiles very easily. Sophia and Lily love to play with him. He is growing fast, so we have updated this site with the most recent and cutest samples of our little one.
We only have one good picture, the one shown here, because we didn't think to take many photos during the reunion. We hope you'll enjoy it.
As Emily was driving the family north on the I-5, south of Salem, OR to our family reunion, an unusual sound started at the rear of the car. Emily and Chad looked at each other, perplexed, when a loud pop sounded. The car pulled hard to the left. Emily tried to pull out of it when the car began to fishtail. The rear of our car spun around to the right, we hit the median with the right front bumper, knocking us further around, completing our 360 deg. turn. 3 nice people came to our aid with cell phones and words of advice and comfort. The Salem ambulance, police, fire and ER staff were terrific as they took great care of our battered family.
May 14, 2005, 12pm: Emily admitted into Daniel Freeman Hospital. 3pm: Emily was dialated to 5 cm when the midwife broke the amniotic sac. 5:50pm: after 3 hours of hard labor and 14 days overdue, Thatcher Leland was finally born. He weighed 9 lbs, 11.1 oz & 21.5 in long. He has blonde hair, big feet and long toes just like daddy. Emily and Thatcher are recovering and are healthy.
Enjoy these photos of the labor, delivery, & recovery of the Horrocks' newest.
Sophie turned 7, May 5th 2005. To celebrate, she had an April 22nd birthday party. Lots of friends came over to celebrate. On May 5th, Sophia got to plan the family meals. That evening, Sophia and Lily stayed up until 12:30am watching movies. What a day!
